This topic describes how to enable the default synchronisation setup between Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. You can use the default synchronisation set up to get Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration up and running for the first time, out-of-the-box. You can also perform this task to revert your synchronisation set up back to the default setup. The default synchronisation setup specifies the following items:
-
Integration table mappings that map Microsoft Dynamics NAV tables, such as salespeople and customers, to Microsoft Dynamics CRM entities, such as users and accounts.
-
Synchronisation job queue entries that synchronise data on scheduled intervals.
-
Integration IDs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV records to be integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Important |
|---|
| If you enable the default synchronisation setup, any custom configurations for Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration, such as table mappings and field mappings, will be deleted. |
Note |
|---|
| If you are re-enabling a Microsoft Dynamics CRM connection, then you might want to generate integration IDs for new records that were added while the connection was disabled. For more information, see Generating Integration IDs for New Records. |
To enable the default Microsoft Dynamics CRM synchronisation setup
In the Search box, enter Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connection Setup, and then choose the related link.
The Microsoft Dynamics CRM connection must be enabled first. To enable the connection, select the Enable check box.
On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Use Default Synchronisation Setup, and then choose the OK button.
Choose the OK button when done.
You can now synchronise coupled Microsoft Dynamics CRM records and Microsoft Dynamics NAV records. You can do this manually on an individual record basis or automatically on a scheduled time interval by using the default Microsoft Dynamics CRM synchronisation jobs. For more information, see How to: Couple and Synchronise Records Manually and Scheduling Synchronisation by Using the Synchronisation Job Queue Entries.
Generating Integration IDs for New Records
To synchronise records in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, such as customers or contacts, with Microsoft Dynamics CRM entity records, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV record must have an integration ID. When a Microsoft Dynamics CRM connection is enabled, integration IDs for new records are automatically generated. However, in some cases, you may temporarily disable the Microsoft Dynamics CRM connection. If you want to integrate Microsoft Dynamics NAV records that were added while the Microsoft Dynamics CRM was disabled, you must generate integration IDs for the records. Complete the following procedure to populate the integration IDs for the new records.
To enable the default Microsoft Dynamics CRM synchronisation setup
In the Search box, enter Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connection Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Generate Integration IDs, and then choose the OK button.
Choose the OK button when done.
