Shows the location where the machine centre operates by default.
The field is read-only because the location code of a machine centre is always defined by the work centre under which it is organised.
Additional Information
If the machine centre is used in a production order at the location that is defined in this field, then warehouse activities around consumption and output are defined by the machine centre setup. The detailed flow of items to and from the machine centre is defined in the bin code fields in the Location Code field on the machine centre card.
You can still use this machine centre in production orders at any other location that is not specified in this field. In that case, the bin codes that are defined on the machine centre card are not used.
If no location code is defined on the machine centre but a location code is specified in the Components at Location field in the Manufacturing Setup window, then components lines are created for that location as a global default.
If you have defined a default bin structure for components, then the Location Code field on the work centre card plays a role when filling the Bin Code field on production order component lines. For more information, see To-Production Bin Code.
